Assisting in the design of an educational exhibition based on a project to publicise research on the Holocaust, Collège de la Durantière + Loire-Atlantique Department + INSPE Nantes + Shoah Memorial + Collectif Supercali, 2025
Supervised by Sylvain Marange, a teacher at both the Collège de la Durantière and the INSPE in Nantes with MEEF Master's students, the Regards croisés sur la Shoah project aims to address memories of European Jewish genocide through a process rich in historiographical research. The secondary school pupils and students worked for two years alongside researchers and descendants of survivors. In April 2025, the project culminated in a study trip to Paris, Krakow and Auschwitz to observe, document, understand and pass on the memory of the genocide.

Supercali was contacted in November 2024 to assist with the design and creation of educational exhibition spaces within the institution. Using material produced and collected over the course of two years, we designed an exhibition spread across three spaces. In the centre, close to the walkways, is the exhibition curator's section and an introduction to the project, explaining its objectives, participants and initial actions. A second room provides a detailed look at Jewish life before the Holocaust, Jewish neighbourhoods, practices and cultures, particularly in the east. The last space focuses on the genocide, its actors and its locations.

With an extremely limited budget and using reused materials already available on site, we designed and created small pieces of furniture to mark the scenography, giving it a physical presence but also enhancing it by providing surfaces for objects (notebooks, fabrics, drawings, etc.) produced as part of the project.
