Inktober 2022

Project One illustration a day during one month
Missions Digital illustration and communication
Date 2023

The Inktober invite artists to produce one drawing per day on a specific theme during the month of October, initially in black ink. For 2022, I have decided to propose a series of illustrations based on the work of Jacques Tardi.

Jacques Tardi, a French author and illustrator from the second half of the 20th century, made a lasting impression on me with his powerful graphic worlds, so similar to Hergé's clear line in their style but diametrically opposed in their texture and use of colour. His style perfectly complements the subjects he tackles, particularly the violence of armed conflicts and struggles in Putain de guerre ! and Le Cri du peuple. The artwork is gut-wrenching in its violence and raw scenes, yet so accurate in describing the horror of war.
