Proposing a graphic design that can be adapted as a toolbox, ID-up, 2024
The ID-up agency founded by Iga Dolowy in 2018 is an urban planning and landscape structure based in Nantes. Its 16 employees work mainly in the west of France, on projects ranging from ZACs (urban development zones) and town centres to landscaping parks and designing public spaces.
During my contract, in addition to my graphic work at ID-up , I was asked to create a new graphic identity based on existing methodologies and images.
To do this, I organised several workshops to co-design the agency's visual identity with the employees who were invited, over a period of 2 hours, to rank the references both in terms of quality and graphic coherence, and also in terms of the relevance of the use of a particular element on two levels of complexity corresponding to the stage of progress of the projects. The schematic representations, sections, plans and perspectives were linked to the first level of detail (sketch and preliminary design) or to the second level (from the preliminary design to the tender documents).

Based on these references, I was able to start developing a toolbox that grouped together, file by file, the graphic elements needed to maintain consistency across all the components of projects. The elements are separated by type (vegetation, characters, vehicles, etc.) and by level of detail, with the addition, after consultation, of perspective, which is a separate element. As the graphic charter had not been completed graphically, the completeness of each category was also monitored.
Finally, the graphic identity also included a method for digitally archiving elements to make it easier to search, add or delete them in shared internal folders. The aim of this archiving is also to centralise internal references and create standard templates to reduce the time needed to design the agency's documents for external communication.
