Project One illustration per day for a month, exploring art history
Missions Illustration using pen and oil pastel, digital retouching, graphic design, editing and communication
Date 2024
The Inktober challenge invites artists to create one drawing per day related to a theme during the month of October, initially in black ink. For Inktober 2022 , I chose to pay tribute to Jacques Tardi, and for Inktober 2023 , I decided to twist the challenge by using a black BIC pen as my artistic tool on a very small format (approximately 4x4 cm).
This year, I really wanted to explore oil pastels and combine them with my other techniques to return to more colourful work. I took the opportunity to offer a journey through art history with 31 works chosen according to arbitrary criteria. They had to give me a new perspective on a period, either because they are representative of a style or an era, or because they made me feel a particular atmosphere.

These 31 illustrations are the result of this exploration of the tool, scanned and then digitally colourised. Want to see more? I even took the opportunity to document my practice, which can be seen here.
